Meet Snickers. This little guy is an absolute sweetheart and he is in need of a new forever home. Snickers is 8 years old, he is housetrained and crate trained, he is good with other dogs and he is very gentle and mild mannered. Snickers was taken to a local animal hospital to be put to sleep because he had an anal gland abscess! Rescue took Snickers instead and we have been treating the abscess and it looks good. Sweet Snickers would be ideal for a senior who is looking for a kind and gentle companion. 3/5/2009 UPDATE: Snickers is doing well in his foster home but really longs for a home to call his own. Snickers just had all of his shots updated today as well as a dental cleaning and he is ready to go to his new home anytime. We have discovered that Snickers must be on a high fiber diet such as R/D or W/D which is made by Science Diet and available at vet offices. We are also giving Snickers one 5mg prednisone every three days or so and he is doing quite well. More than likely Snickers will need to remain on this regimen for life. Since arriving in his foster home Snickers has gained about 5lbs and is now overweight so his new owner will need to put him on a diet. Snickers is a very wonderful dog who is a real people dog and he just wants to please his owner. Please consider Snickers, you won't regret it.
