Meet Bishop.UPDATE 6/8/2010: WE HAVE HAD A DENTAL CLEANING DONE ON BISHOP, IT WAS LONG OVERDUE. DURING THE DENTAL IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT ALOT OF TEETH NEEDED TO BE REMOVED BECAUSE THEY WERE ROTTEN. 13 TEETH WERE REMOVED DURING THE PROCEDURE AND ALL THE REMAINING TEETH WERE CLEANED AND POLISHED. POOR BISHOP IS NOT VERY HAPPY RIGHT NOW, HE IS PRETTY UNCOMFORTABLE EVEN WITH ALL THE PAIN MEDS HE IS GETTING. I AM SURE IN A COUPLE DAYS HE WILL BE AS GOOD AS NEW, ACTUALLY BETTER THAN NEW AND HE WILL APPRECIATE THAT HIS MOUTH DOESN'T HURT ANYMORE. Bishop is a red mini smooth coat Dachshund that we estimate to be around 8-10 years old. This sweet little guy ended up at our local shelter and was slated for euthanasia had we not taken him in. Bishop was neutered at the shelter before we picked him him as well as microchipped and updated on his vaccines but we will still need to have Bishops teeth cleaned as they are in horrible condition. This little guy is such a gem, he just loves to please and spend time with his people and he wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his life in a safe secure home. Bishop is great with other dogs both large and small and fits right into the pack. We have been keeping Bishop in a crate at night and he is fine with that and do far he hasn't had an accident in the house but we watch him like a hawk when indoors. If you choose to adopt we do require a home visit, an adoption contract and an adoption fee of $200.00 to help pay medical expenses.
