UPDATE: Kiko has had his surgery and is doing very well. We have had the stiches removed and have started physical therapy. We are now seeking a forever home for Kiko. If you would like to adopt Kiko please complete an adoption application and then give us a call. Say hello to Kiko. This beautiful young boy is in need of our help so that he can live a long and happy life. Kiko has a bone defect in his front right leg and he needs surgery ASAP to correct it. One of the long bones in his leg has stopped growing and the other has not. This is causing a lot of pressure on his elbow and in turn his shoulder which causes him to limp. Kiko has been examined by several veterinarians as well as an orthopedic specialist and they all agree he needs surgery to cut out a a portion of the bone that is still growing to alleviate the pressure ASAP. If we don't do the surgery Kiko's elbow will fuse and he won't be able to move it and as he ages it will develop severe arthritis and he will be more and more uncomfortable as he grows older. We need to raise right around $1000.00 to do the surgery and after that he will need periodic xrays to see how the bone is healing. Once the surgery is done we will start intense physical therapy to regain full use of the elbow, then Kiko will be ready to go to his new forever home!!! Kiko is a longhaired chocolate dapple who weighs about 14lbs at this time which means he is a tweenie. We know that Kiko is good with other dogs both large and small, he loves to play with the Dobermans as well as the Dachshunds in his foster home. Kiko loves water and loves to run through the sprinklers when they go off and he loves to play ball. This special boy deserves a helping hand so he can live a long, pain free life. Please consider making a tax deductable donation to help with Kiko's surgery. Any amount will help no matter how small. Thank you in advance and we will keep you posted on our progress. |
